Silvia Pimentel

Silvia Pimentel holds a law degree from Universidade Santa Úrsula and has spent over three decades working in the Brazilian judicial system. Her experience is vast and diverse, including her career at the Criminal Court of Appeals, where she played a key role in formulating legal practices that had a lasting impact on case law. Her technical knowledge and ability to handle complex cases have led her to hold positions in several judicial instances.


In addition to her work at the Criminal Court of Appeals, Silvia also provided advice to the General Inspector of Justice and worked in the Notary Support Inspection Group (GIAC). In this role, she was responsible for coordinating correctional activities and implementing improvements in internal procedures, always with a focus on ensuring the efficiency and integrity of the judicial system. Her contribution was essential to the evolution of correctional practices and to strengthening justice at the state level.


Silvia also stood out as Director of the Research and Jurisprudence Service of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ). In this position, she coordinated the production of legal research and the compilation of jurisprudence, providing vital support to judges in their deliberations. Her work ensured that judicial decisions were always aligned with the most recent doctrinal and jurisprudential understandings, consolidating her role as a reference in Law. With her dedication, Silvia Pimentel continues to be a leader of the Ecumenical Space of the Intercessory Women Group at the Palace of Justice.
