Nilson Furtado

Nilson Furtado de Oliveira Filho (also Nilson Furtado) has practiced for over twenty (20) years in the administrative and tax areas, with vast experience in administrative and judicial litigation and consultancy, having exercised the position of Technician of the National Treasury (today called Tax Analyst of the Federal Revenue Service) and practiced in the DIPJ and DIRPF procedures and in the management of the Systems for IPI, DCTF, and IRPJ.

Nilson has exercised the office of Attorney of the National Institute of Social Security – INSS, in the defense of the Government Agency in the areas of execution of Overdue Tax Liability, tax defense, litigation of benefits, litigation of personnel, analysis of judgment debts of the government and consultancy. He was also an Attorney of the National Treasury, practicing in the same areas.

Currently, Nilson is an Attorney of the State of Rio de Janeiro, where he occupied the positions of Regional Attorney of the State, Head Legal Assistant of the Office of the Secretary of Economic Development, Head Attorney of the Overdue Tax Liability of the State of Rio de Janeiro, and Head Legal Assistant of the Office of the Secretary of Finance of the State of Rio de Janeiro.

Before becoming a partner of PVS Advogados as a senior consultant, Nilson was a partner of the law firm Cesar Mota & Rocha – Advogados until 2016, with an expressive performance in the areas of tax litigation and consultancy.

With a degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Public Law from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), he is also an guest professor of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) at the MBA programs in Tax Law and in the Specialization in Business Law and in Tax Law at the Law School of FGV, of the Specialization in Public Administration Law (CEDAP), of the School Law of Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), of Escola Superior de Advocacia Pública da Procuradoria Geral do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (ESAP), of the Specialization in Tax Law of PUC-RJ, among other institutions.
