Ademir Pimentel
Ademir Paulo Pimentel (or simply Ademir Pimentel) retired in May 2015 from the public service after working as a judge for over forty (40) years. Ademir Pimentel performed his function of judge first at the Supreme Court of the State of Espírito Santo (TJES) and later, for the most part of his career, at the Supreme Court of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ). In both cases, Ademir Pimentel became a judge by means of exemplarily passing a public competitive examination. In his activity at TJRJ, Ademir Pimentel was the judge of several divisions, such as the 4th Public Treasury Court of the Judicial District of the Capital City and the 2nd Civil Court of Campos dos Goytacazes, in the Northern Region of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Ademir Pimentel retired as President of the Thirteenth Civil Chamber of TJRJ and member of the Special Division of the same Court.
Ademir Pimentel was a member of the Examination Board of the three public competitive examinations for the office of State Judge conducted before his retirement. Ademir Pimentel has a vast experience in Tax Law, Civil Law, Consumer Protection Law, and Election Law. From 2009 to 2011, Ademir Pimentel alternated in the functions of President and Vice-President of the Regional Election Court of Rio de Janeiro (TRE-RJ), as a substitute member in that Court. As a judge, Ademir Pimentel always distinguished himself for his impeccable technical competence, depth, and comprehensiveness of his legal knowledge, and also for the polite, urban, and nice form in which he addressed the parties and their lawyers. Ademir Pimentel is co-author of the legal book called “Contratos” (Contracts), published by Editora Impetus.
